Staff were incredibly helpful in arranging delicious vegetarian meals, which were absolutely mind-blowing. The private Onsen was a super experience, and the public Onsen was also really good. Our spacious and comfortable room had lots of nice touches like a hot water urn, iced water, and a teapot with tea. the ryokan provided a jaw-dropping Japanese Onsen experience. The beautiful location with mountain views, short walk from the bus station, added to the amazing stay. The breakfast, offering authentic ryokan options and accommodating vegetarian preferences, was very good. Most of the staff were amazing, with the breakfast and housekeeping staff being especially courteous and warm. The manager at the reception desk was also incredibly friendly, helpful, and had great English skills. Considering the price, this was an excellent value for money experience. An experience with Japanese style and a nice Onsen. The included half board food was very good, with a small private space in the basement restaurant and an option for more rice at no fee. The Onsen area was also quite large, with both indoor and outdoor facilities.

Location: the hotel was near to nature, and the ski resorts. A cool bonus was nearby Cafe Mustache, that offered tea and coffee.

The hotel was an easy base for enjoying a nice area, close enough to the Hirayi bus terminal, a bus stop that goes to Kamikochi, Takayama, Aizu-Wakamatsu, and bus station. All the employees were nice and welcoming. The location was great, minute walk from Hirayu Folk Museum. The restaurant was located within 800 feet.

Overall, the hotel was a convenient base for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas like shin-hotaka and kamikochi. It was also easily accessible from the Hirayu Onsen bus terminal. the friendly staff, charming traditional-style building, and clean room with breakfast made our stay truly enjoyable. In summary, everything about our experience was wonderful.

I chose Okada Ryokan Warakutei because I wanted to visit Hirayu Otaki Park, and the hotel's location was perfect. But what pleasantly surprised me was the direct bus service from Chūbu Centrair International Airport and Shinjuku Tokyo. This made my travel to the hotel very convenient. , I loved that dinner was served at the dining room of the main building. The opportunity to taste the famous Hida beef depending on the season was also a highlight. , the fact that they could store food in the fridge was a bonus.

my recent stay in takayama at a ryokan during christmas exceeded all expectations. okada ryokan warakutei provided a traditional atmosphere, spacious rooms with private onsen, delicious meals presented by the friendly staff who spoke enough english, and beautiful exterior baths that were open all night. it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

The view of the Northern Alps and starry sky from the open-air bath was absolutely breathtaking! It made me feel so relaxed and connected with nature.

Personally, I found the electronic bidet in the toilets to be a bit overwhelming. However, I understand that others may appreciate this feature.

It made my journey much more convenient. I loved the fact that dinner was served in the dining room of the main building, where I could enjoy delicious meals. The opportunity to taste the famous Hida beef was a definite highlight too, depending on the season. Lastly, the ability to store food in the fridge was a convenient feature that I appreciated during my stay.

Despite requesting a non-smoking room, we were not given one. The response to our objection was simply to remove the ashtray.

We thought this ryokan was simply wonderful. If you want the full experience in a beautiful location, we think it's a pretty good choice. The rooms were elegant, with a sitting area and balcony outside that had a view of the mountains. The room staff seem to have raised the room setup to an art form. We had half-board and the Japanese dinner is well worth experiencing if you haven't had the works before. The breakfast has many different cooked items so you need to decide if you want this first thing in the morning. Throughout the hotel, there are paintings, sculptures, and other objects that add to the overall ambience. The Onsen was comprehensive, with three indoor pools of different temperatures and a large outdoor pool. The staff at reception were also great and very helpful. We're glad we stayed here and would love to return.

The traditional ryokan style of Okada Ryokan in Takayama was a truly unique experience. We were able to unwind and relax in the onsen, which was open all night. The beautiful communal areas and fast internet were also a plus. The friendly lady who showed us around made us feel welcome. Despite some drawbacks, overall I would recommend this hotel for a memorable stay.
